The coast of Point Nepean is ever changing in different weather, light and time of year. This artwork captures a moment in time as the water laps the shore where weathered branches lay. I had created this artwork after a visit to Point Nepean, Victoria, Australia. As I observed the seascape on this day I was taken by how quickly the scene changed in mood and light.
The artwork is painted with acrylic paints and acrylic mediums on cradled board. The branches in the foreground are raised using modelling mediums and they rest on a sandy, coarse surface created with textured mediums to enhance the artwork.
This artwork brings the peace and moodiness of the setting into the home, creating a momentary visual escape from the everyday.
